Asia has produced more early-retirement success stories than any other region because a monthly budget that barely covers rent at home can cover a comfortable life here. We capped this list at cities under $1,500 a month in cost of living and sorted the cheapest first, so you can see immediately where your money stretches furthest.

The tradeoff is distance and unfamiliarity. Visa rules vary a lot by country, some require periodic runs across a border, and a handful of cities on this list will feel like a genuine culture shift rather than a warmer version of home. That is not a downside if you are chasing the FIRE math specifically, but it is worth knowing before you book a one-way flight. If proximity to the US or Europe matters more to you than pure cost, check the Latin America or Mediterranean lists instead.
