Our mission

We're here for the generation that did the math and said no thanks to the default. Where you live decides your cost of living, your savings rate, your taxes, and ultimately the year you stop trading time for money. We treat that as the financial lever it actually is, not an afterthought.

Everyone optimizes how much they earn and save. Almost nobody optimizes where those savings go furthest. That second decision is worth years of your life, and we built IndepAI to make it as rigorous as the first.

Every FIRE calculator assumes you'll die where you were born

Classic FIRE math multiplies your expenses by 25 and hands you a number. But that number is silently chained to one place, usually an expensive one. The second you can work from anywhere, the assumption falls apart, and your real timeline could be years shorter than the spreadsheet admits.

Why we built this

We were remote workers running our own FIRE spreadsheets, and we kept slamming into the same wall: every calculator assumed one fixed location. None of them could answer the only question that mattered, what happens to my freedom date if I move?

So we built the instrument we wanted. IndepAI puts location at the center of the FIRE calculation, compares real cities on the numbers that actually move your exit year, and flags the tax and visa realities spreadsheets quietly pretend don't exist.
